Research Themes
Research will be dedicated to conducting cutting-edge studies at the intersection of health, technology, and society. CASSBI seeks to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration across fields, including bioengineering, public health, social sciences, and information technology.
Research activities of the Center encompass three main themes:
- Creating innovative medical technology.
- Transferring emerging medical technologies into real-world use.
- This includes exploring translational and commercialization opportunities, examining the societal impacts of these technologies, and ensuring they are equitable in their accessibility, cultural-compatibility, scale and sustainability.
- Engaging with patients and communities to understand real-world problems.
- This includes utilizing community-based participatory research and participatory action research methods to center the voices of individuals and communities with relevant shared lived experiences to guide future research priorities.
We aim to publish findings in top-tiered journals, influence policy, and set new standards in medical technology innovation.
