The Center for Advancing Systems Science and Bioengineering Innovation (CASSBI) keeps track of our center activities to ensure we are making a substantial impact within our academic community.

    • Amount of Income: including funds from external sources, funds from internal sources, program income
    • Expenses: including faculty affiliate and staff salaries, student salary and tuition support, space rental, equipment costs, travel, food and catering, supplies, photocopy and printing costs, events, website development and maintenance, and other costs.
    • Number of proposals submitted for external funding
    • Number of externally funded awards
  • Educational Activities
    • Number of student (undergraduate and graduate) mentored and/or financially supported
    • Number of training activities/workshops organized
    • Number of on-campus educational activities sponsored

Operational Costs

The CASSBI operational budget, drawn from indirect recovery, will be utilized to support the following expenses:

  • Full-time and Part-time Center personnel not supported by external grants  
  • CASSBI-organized conferences and workshops 
  • Honoraria for Advisory board members
  • Operating expenses for CASSBI-led consortia
  • Courses and workshops organized by CASSBI
  • Graduate-student travel support
